compassionate, science-based psychotherapy

specializing in anxiety & obsessive-compulsive disorder

Welcome. I’m Tom,

I help people be present, open up, and do what matters with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Are you ready to get out of your head and into the moment?

Do you want to build a rich and meaningful life?

This is what Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is all about.

We all have difficult thoughts, feelings, and memories - it’s part of being human.

However, the more you try to escape your pain, the more you suffer unnecessarily.

In the pursuit of feeling better and getting rid of “bad thoughts,” you end up stuck in your head, and disconnected from what is really important in life

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is about more than just talking about your problems or trying to feel better until the next session.

ACT helps us have a radically different approach to life.

A way of being where we drop the struggle with our thoughts and feelings and wake up into the fullness of the present moment.

A way of living where the things we say and do each day are guided what is truly important.

I am passionate about helping people through a variety of services

  • I offer individual psychotherapy in Avon, CT for adults, teens, and children struggling with OCD, anxiety, stress, and related concerns. Using evidence-based approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), I provide compassionate, tailored care to help you build resilience and create meaningful change.

  • For those needing more focused support, I provide intensive therapy programs for OCD and anxiety. Intensive treatment combines ERP, ACT, and structured practice between sessions to help accelerate progress and create lasting improvements in daily life.

  • I offer professional training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for therapists, clinicians, and organizations. Trainings are interactive, evidence-based, and designed to build practical skills you can immediately apply in your clinical work.

  • I provide ACT consultation for therapists and mental health professionals, focusing on case conceptualization, skill development, and integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into practice. Whether you are new to ACT or looking to deepen your skills, consultation supports growth, confidence, and clinical effectiveness.
